Carol
opened her business from her home in the fall 1994 with the idea of
renting Prom dresses to young ladies who could not afford to purchase
them. In early 1995 she added Bridal dresses and bridesmaids to her
offerings. She had a selection of about 200 dresses at this time.
In
1996 Carol’s business had grown enough to be able to move to a building
in the four corners of North Muskegon. She then expanded her inventory and
began full sales and service of all Bridal and Prom dresses and related
accessories. Tuxedo rentals and sales from Sempliners Tuxedo were also
offered and became a significant part of the business.
Carol’s
Bridal & Tuxedo had grown enough that another move was made in the
Spring of 1997 to the former Spyke’s Clothing building prominently
located by the US-31 expressway on Apple Ave. in East
